Yes, several. Have a look at the posting by LaLi561. However, you should be aware, it's Schubert's original German version - a setting in German of Walter Scott's poem, Ellen's Third Song. But doubtless you'll recognise Schubert's music.
Apologies, didn't get the drift of your question. I just keep looking at this and marvelling at the performance. My singing teacher has just given me a score for it but I'm convinced it's not what Ms Bonney is singing. I'm not sure I'd be capable of singing this, still less the one she's given me ! Very scary, since I only started singing with the local choir less than 4 years ago.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, so dont you make it out as if she is the best soprano ever. Clearly, with your level of understanding, you dont seem to know much. I did not 'down' her in anyway, I just simply viewed what I thought. Sorry to tell you but no one is perfect. I DO think she has a splendid voice, and this IS the best version of this song... So how bout you come out of your world and snap to reality where things might just have flaws
Just where did I say 'best soprano ever' ? If you look at what I actually wrote it was ' ONE OF THE VERY BEST SOPRANOS OF OUR TIME'. I stand by that and I still think it crass to criticise someone with such a voice and exemplary experience. Can you do better ? Does anyone else here find fault with her ?
I don't know how anyone can presume to criticise Barbara Bonney, one of the very best sopranos of our time with a long career not only on stage but in teaching. Sorry, but your comment is offensive !
