For generations, this country offered Poles a life that they could never have in Poland. In the U.S. they could enjoy freedom and make a decent wage. Now, twenty years after the collapse of communism, and five years after joining the European Union, Polands economy has improved and is doing relatively well- even with the economic slowdown. All this has led to new attitudes among Poles about immigrating to the U.S.
Ewa Kern-Jedrychowska is a reporter with the Polish Daily News in New York and Feet in Two Worlds, a project that brings the work of immigrant journalists to public radio. She reports that this new world of choice has created a division between older and younger Poles in the U.S.

Life is surprising, Poland used to be a safe haven for Jews, Muslims and many other religions and people. The country was also a shield of Europe, if it was not for Poland I am sure that Europe's map would look differently.
Then the country was occupied and held in captivity for long period of time.
People often say "the history rounds a circle", well I hope Poland will become that strong and safe country again.
Btw. watch the video in my channel to get my point better.
Regards.
