I love this! And I love that you actually DANCED through it, as well. So many dancers using veil poi just twirl around and spin their voi... they forget to DANCE. Your performance was beautiful, and inspiring - thank you for sharing :)

@RaqsSaideh Requiem for a Dream by Howard Shore.

I was completely mesmerized by that. Wow.

The dim lighting for this creates a magical effect. At times it's as if only the veils exist. Very haunting visual along with the music. The beginning of this performance has a very butoh feel to me. I like how you draw out the antisipation.
The movements with the phrasing of the music are right on and the barrell turns are a fav with the crowd. Very dramatic and emotionally impacting performance.

are you using poi with chains? i just started and mine have tenis balls on the end that you can attach the veils to, what do you use ?

Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell from Requiem for a Dream

I think it sounds like Nox Arcana.....

It was a beautiful performance. I just wish it wasn't so dark to see you more. So innovative to use the gothic and veil poi

What is the name of the song? I've always loved this song but not known where to get it
Very beautiful! <3
Are these veils the 7' size?

THese veils are 3.5 yards long and 52inchs in width. There weave wieght is about 6mm. They are pretty standard silk bellydance veils. Im not quite sure what you mean by 7' size? I hope that information helps... :)
