Senator Obama has repeatedly voted for the status quo in education. He has inflated Chicago teachers' salaries and consistently opposed merit based pay in the education system. His schools have the highest paid public school teachers with a quarter making annualized salaries of over $133,000 and yet they are among the worst performers. He has pampered faculty at the expense of students by repeatedly voting to keep teacher pay based solely on seniority. Obama has no intent to change the schools

As a sixth year teacher, Obama is right on the money. NCLB blows and all us teachers know it. I'll happily return to public education when this abomination of educational policy is radically altered or better, completely abolished.
