@GerardoIx um so who cares? I'm just saying quantum computers are going to be better then the current technology. Molecular isn't really that special so its smaller then what we have now so what? Quantum computers still has much more potential and molecular computer is just a stepping stone.

Molecular computers are the next big thing, you could say they're already on baby steps

i read somewhere that the Ivy Bridge CPU multiplier will be locked to 63x. does that mean a possible 6.3 GHz overclock? (not, feasible, but still possible?)
-
@lamiac2411 well see it is new technology because there is more then just making the die smaller, there using a new way of actually putting the transistors on, 22nm is pretty small considering 5nm is the atomic level because with each new technology its not just about making it faster its making it run faster and take less power to do so which is what this is doing i am no doubt going to go out and buy the i5 2500k equivalent of the ivy bridge.

@andrewb90atmedotcom that would be interesting, impossible as far as i can see, without a power source how can something run but if the current i5 2500k is a 95w processor maybe they will be able to equal its performance at 1w of power, but then that doesn't include overclocking which at 1w of power would overclock like a bitch, 5ghz for i5 2500k eh at 1w think 20ghz O.O

@SuperDarkroman i just hope it doesnt come to the point where we cant think of anything and all we can do is just upgrade the architechture and add more L3 cache memory that would be the end of technology as we know it...

Will intel make these CPUs so efficient that they don't use any electricity at all?
In the future they can´t make their transistors smaller.
They have to think about another technology that´s completely different to the actual one.

@SuperDarkroman Thank you.
At present, in the pattern pitch of a semiconductor, 5 nm of a molecular level is a limit physically.
I think that the thing of an atomic level will be developed by research by XFEL in the 2020s.

@MrToshi3333 quantum computers are the future in my opinion. even though they are still in a "fetal state" at the moment.

@jakewood12 Thank you.
I think that I eventually also settle down with a quantum computer.
Doesn't it become in 2020 and afterwards?
