these heavily decorated churches you are talking about are usually within catholic churches. and yes i would have to agree on SOME parts such that most religions are in it for the money... but don't you think it was a bit unfair to single out christianity? granted that christianity is a well known religion and it is known for it's "fanatics", but there are an abundant amount of religions out there, instead christianity was singled out as the "ignorant" corp.

You should look up the history of "congregational" versus hierarchical forms of church governance. No doubt that many "churches" are organized to create a form of control and income...others are true the spiritual development of the members. THere is great diversity and are all wrapped into Christianity. Also many Christian churches allow women and same sex marriages and welcome trans people to worship. All need operating capital of some kind. No matter how small we all give something.

If Jesus were still here, he'd be down there with his whip. haha Jesus was not at all like his most if his modern professed followers, they follow not his model of what a church should be. Speaking outdoors on rocky stone shores to all comers, sharing meager portions of food, and defending hookers from would-be executioners, that was Christ... there is NO Christ in most modern Christians and certainly not a trace of Christ in the religious institutions.
