Ive been driving over 3 years and I always dread about finding a truck stop with no parking, especially in the D.C./Baltimore area. After seeing this video its makes 100% sense. The US government must understand that we as truck drivers are paying the price with our lives because they are not realizing the situation. every truck stop and rest area must make improvements to build more parking for truckers. with the demand for on-time del high its crucial. great video

I love that TA and hope it never changes. I feel like I'm at the carnival when I'm there and never had a problem. Some drivers think it's a dangerous place to park. Not me, this is where I make most of my freinds.

the new 10 hour in actuallity it its minusing 14k in salary to the average OTR driver..and its actually 9 hr driving cause it wil take u that long to find a place to park outside of a shoulder or ramp...The Government has all these new regs..and checks and balances..were is the labor board with concerns of drivers being responsible for a truck 168hrs out of the week and only getting paid by the mile..add it up drivers...are u making $840 a week..cause thats what $5 dollars x 168hrs is

This is sad that nothing is being done to resolve the problems of parking spaces at truck stops. Can you blame truckers for parking illegally on off ramps? I rather take a tickett than take my own life and somebody elses.

Not only is there a shortage in parking and safe havens for truckers, the State Police in Virginia will issue a ticket if you park in a rest area for longer then 2 hours. And force you to move your truck. Upon the movement of your truck, they will also issue you another ticket now much larger for driving over your hours.
