Hooked On Tchaikovsky

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the Romantic era.

As his style developed, Tchaikovsky wrote music across a range of genres, including symphony, opera, ballet, instrumental, chamber and song.

He wrote some of the most popular concert and theatrical music in the current classical repertoire, including the ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, the 1812 Overture, his First Piano Concerto, his last three numbered symphonies, and the opera Eugene Onegin.

Hooked on Tchaikovsky is a part of the series of record albums first introduced in 1981, Hooked on Classics.

Louis Clark, former arranger for Electric Light Orchestra, conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing a collection of very recognizable extracts from classical music pieces played over a continuous beat (sometimes an overtly disco fast beat, sometimes a slower and more subtle rhythm) which linked the segments together.

tchaikovsky is one of my favorite composers. i love his unique romantic music. when i listen to his works, i imagine myself dancing with a girl all night long.

Meu, na minha adolescência eu curtia muito os discos (vinil) Hooked on Classic. Esta seleção é de lá. Já procurei em CD para comprar mas não encontrei (ainda). Quem gosta de música clássica, ouça todas, são muito boas. Tchaikovsky foi um dos compositores com ritmos fortes e melodia marcantes. Já ouviram 1812? Ou concerto para piano nº1? Não sei decidir qual é mais linda!!!
