@jggm2011 as a dropout I strongly disagree with you. I'm not sure how old you are but nowadays career perspectives are grim for people without degrees. A job in oil sands could pay well for 10 years, and then what?
a masters degree in economics provide better long term opportunity and financial security.
@bnelsonblog1 I'm 26 now, and regret not getting my degree. I sincerely advise you not to make the same mistake!

Good for you for going back to school and good luck.

You can complete tests to get into schools like douglas or Kwatlen, just to test your knowlege, and fail or pass, you will get in, just depends on which level you start at. Advanced or Beginner for first year.

A degree is not the only way you can make it and be successful in life. For me, hard work and learning on the job, did the trick. Just don't put all of your eggs in one basket. R u from Canada? You mentioned Calgary. If you live up there, you should be trying to get a high paying job up in the oil sands flats. Please respond. Yes, I miss Canada!

@bnelsonblog1 No, but I visited there several times for business. The food taste different in Canada than it does in the US but the people in western Canada are very friendly. I bet it is really cold there now. I don't like that part. I didn't realize that you are Canadian, why your interest in American politics, especially Herman Cain?

@jggm2011 I feel that the US is light years ahead of Canada, in regards to social development, which makes the news more interesting than Canadian news. Americans are more vocal about how they feel about issues, so it is always amusing to study how American's interact with each other, and the rest of the world. Canadian politics are not so exciting, and often fail at engaging the youth.
