The Keirin is a motor paced sprint event where the motorcycle leads the racers out for the first 1400M. The speed progressively picks up from 15mph to 31mph when the motor bike leaves the track. Racers are not allowed to pass the motor bike until it leaves.
I've added some annotations to the video to help explain what is going on during the race.
This was my first Keirin Final at Marymoor so I still have a lot to learn. The official season doesn't start until June so this is more of a "for fun" race that doesn't count towards season points.
In retrospect I probably should have joined the "A" group. I had DNF'ed every race the previous week in the A's so I decided to try "B" this night in which I DNF'ed every race except the Keirin.
