@8137272424 you probably fixed this already, but yeah its the carb...from what it sounds like its running lean, which is why when you push it and the engine requires more fuel it chokes out.

i do that pretty often too. on most fuel injected cars, the fuel pump with turn on for a few seconds when you turn the key on to prime the system. it saves a little bit of cranking.
