In the last touchdown drive of the 1981 Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, freshman Linnie Patrick made 2 spectacular runs and scored from approximately 15 yards out to give Alabama the final margin of victory 28 - 17. At the time of the victory, Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant became the winningest coach in college football history.
