A suggestion for you. Put either mylar or aluminum foil on the wall to help reflect the light. You can even put some foil under the plants (on the rocks) so that they don't get so spindly.

Goldfish are the most difficuult to breed in captivity. You would be better off with oscars or jack dempseys. The cat's are a good idea if you don't mind the meat. Economy wise this is going to be important also with crap like fukushima and du it could not hurt to grow your own food. Peace, nice system.

Really great idea!! I just broke down my aquarium because it was too much work. I live in a small space, but now that I see this, I might just give it another go.

Happygameshow- I'm not exactly sure if he's alive, but the bad ass catfish is in the pond outside. I did all the things your supposed to do for overwintering a pond so hopefully he makes it...so I can someday eat him and gain his powers of strength and terrorizing other fish. We shall see when it warms up and I get back home in April.
