I agree, buy a trainer,join a the BMFA, join a club and learn to fly that first, or you will just keep crashing and get bored.

You really do seem like educated guys, so what made you think you could fly a sport plane like that with no experience? Didn't you see all the kits that said 'trainer' on them? Go back to the hobby shop, tell them you've NEVER flown before and need a TRAINER plane. Something with a high wing design, like a cessna 152 or something. I also suggest rolling take offs for beginners, with a properly balanced trainer, the plane will litterally fly off the runway on it's own. Better luck next time.
