He deserved the Oscar. I've just watched the movie and I'm amazed by his performance.
His role is far more complex, original and unique than Mr Penn's Milk.
Mr Langella is among the best actors in the world.

@mdelar If it makes you feel any better, in October 2008 I wrote a published article in which I said he was "all but confirmed" to win the Oscar. I thought the same thing you did, and I still think he should have won.

Even though I do still believe that mickey rourke deserved the oscar frank langella was a brilliant second, if anyone deserved the oscar instead of rourke( because of rourkes bad reputation with Hollywood ) it was definetly frank langella, his version of Richard Nixon is absolutley amazing and hands down the best potrail of the character ever( and I'm an Anthony Hopkins fan ) Sean Penn should realise that as a good an actor as he is, he just didn't deserve the oscar

I know...it wasn't his time to get an Oscar yet...but he's long overdue...I even told him, when I interviewed him, that he'd get an Oscar...oh well....
