About the song: Yes, the Rolling Stones made it popular. But, per Wikipedia, the song "was written by Bobby Womack and Shirley Womack. It was first released by The Valentinos featuring Sam Cooke. The Valentinos version entered the Billboard Hot 100 on June, 27, 1964, where it stayed on the charts for two weeks peaking at # 94. The Rolling Stones had their first number one hit with this song in July 1964."
Hey, it's "FarmerBob," the lead guitarist in this vid--rear-left. I just wanted to add that this just stressing that this was the first time we played with a drummer (borrowed from the Outlaw Family Band who gave us the warm-up set on this New Year's Eve gig). It was a turning point for the band, which (d)evolved from acoustic to electric gigs.
I was truly obnoxious in my soloing here--I was psyched to play electric and play the middle-aged teenage rock star!
