ORBITAL - STYLE

Promo for ORBITAL from the album THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE (1999). The directors were Luke Losey and Jonathan Charles. The Director of Photography was the amazing Jonathan Bloom, and camera operator was Grant Wakefield. It was shot with a modified Arriflex 435 camera, and all moves were done live, by hand, whilst in stop-motion mode.

The old picture in the frame in the end of the video was KAFKA. In the novel named METAMORPHOSİS, a man turns in to a bug. The sleeping man in the video is also the bug. You can easily see his bug finger turning off the radio ;)

This is a terrible road trip song for me; I'm incapable of anything but breathing while listening to it. If there is any justice in the world, Orbital will be spoken of, hundreds of years from now, in the same breath as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Vivaldi. Describing Orbital's work as 'electronic music' is like calling the Roman Coliseum a building.
