Towards the end of 2009 residents from Manly and the Northern Beaches donated used musical instruments to help the children from Papunya - a small Indigenous community 3 hours from Alice Springs. There mentor, Sammy Butcher, can be seen here showing his community. The Tjupi Band, comprising of several of Sammy's Sons, recently won a Triple J Unearthed competition, and became a support act for The John Butler Trio as part of there prize. They played with several of the donated instruments.
