  • That wasn't the goal.

  • Er moet meer worden aangepast dan je kan bedenken, maar het schiet nu aardig op.

  • @Lillie1986 Its not almost half the weight, it barely a hundred pounds less. The LS1 is a better engine choice than many out there, and what, the "extra" hundred pounds that you're bitching about is made up for by the amount of power made. And the power potential. I bet it gets better gas mileage too. I've been around 944s for a while. There is a reason why people put LS1s in them. And you're an American that doesn't like the engines we make? Last I checked we made some of the best in the world

  • @MichaelMisanthropist And a stock 944 engine is almost half that weight. The car has stock almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution, so if you say that putting a twice as big and heavy V8 in the front wont affect the handling then youre an idiot.

Also I am american so I can hate all I want.

  • @Lillie1986 Well, last I checked the LS1 weighs in at under 500 pounds fully dressed. I would love to see you throw any engine against the LS1, for ability to modify, strength and power output. That's a 5.7 liter that doesn't through off the weight distribution, and creates huge amounts of power. And the Porsche 944 turbo trans axles are rated at more than 500hp. Oh yea, we also have a production car that does a 7.19 around the Nurburgring. LS power in that too.. Don't hate on Americans.

  • @MichaelMisanthropist LS1 swaps is a good way to destroy a good car. You cant keep the original transmission with an LS1. So you have to get a front mounted transmission which completely destroys the balance. And even if you could use a transaxle from a corvette or something like that, the engine and the drivetrain would be unecessarly heavy in such a light car.

But then again, americans are born retarded when it comes to cars.

  • Is this hooked up to stock 944 drivetrain? Did you retain the stock transaxle, torque tube, etc?

  • Ls1 swaps are totally better(:

Just a major pain in the ass.

  • I've been bench racing the same idea. 4.2 audi s4 motor in the 944. I'm a lexus sc400 owner so I love v8 rwd coupes, but just want a lighter, tossable, better handling car. I wouldn't kick the 20v turbo motor out of bed though!! :P

  • Thanks for posting...your video keeps me motivated for my VR6 swap!

  • I'd leave it N/A... the 7A has lots or power potential on it's n/a form!

    Nice job mate! Cheers!

  • that is such a cool swap you have there. I have always though an audi v8 swapped into a 944 would also be a cool car. Do you have any future plans to turbo the 7a or just run it as is? Do you have anything done to the 7a besides the AAN intake manifold, or is it basically stock.
