32-month old adryan names all of the elements in the periodic table. He knows almost all by symbol alone and can also recite the first 60 elements from memory without any aid.

  • why does he need to know this now?

  • @ThePauleeny he doesn't, but what specifically he happened to learn is rather incidental to the demonstration of the capability of kids to amaze. The value of it lies in the aid in developing language skills, understanding patterns or the organization of information, and probably a lot of other stuff that I wouldn't be able to put my own finger on, but it resulted from a parent just trying to tell his kid about the world around him, and just trying to find out what his kid was capable of.

  • dang he said silver 3 times!!!other than tht he's smart!

  • @michaelfan1275 possibly the reason is that the symbol for Cadmium (Cd) which comes after silver is similar looking to the symbol for Calcium (Ca). That could have temporarily thrown him off and caused him to pause before he said Cadmium since he would have known that he already said Calcium. Just a guess, but seems possible... repeating "Silver" would probably help him remember which one he normally said after Silver.

  • It's really appealing and amazing but should that 32-month kid really know that kind of things? ... Really dude you should let that kid play with toys and watch cartoon- movies with his age. Don't brainwash your kids !! I mean congrats to you all but he will have time to learn all that stuff later. Best regards. :)

  • @SilaBiH Don't underestimate kids! Just because he knows this doesn't mean he has been deprived of normal stuff..... though it is common when seeing someone with an unusual skill to assume that the parents must have been obsessive about making him learn it, but really a lot of what he did was his own initiative. What we gave him was an interest in learning things. You can't "force" a 2 year old to do this. Our culture is "brainwashed" into thinking that kids can't do stuff like this....

  • To all those arguing that a kid should just watch cartoons and other junk..

.. if the kid enjoys learning this stuff, why stifle it?

  • he's better than me .____.

  • Future chemistry major.

  • Goodness :D

  • This baby might just be the future Dmitri Mendeleev!

  • Are you smarter than a 2 year old?

  • awwhhh he's so smart & cute (:

  • Awesome! And you are spot on about not underestimating a child's interest. I remember my 3 year old brother running around reciting pages of Hamlet because he saw our 15 year old brother learning it for class. This is even more impressive!

  • i know it to ''Kr''.. im 14 ..

  • I'm a science major and I can't do this...I'm screwed

  • Yea if he wasn't memorizing these he'd be memorizing all those goofy Pokemons' names. I think he'll be able to do a little more with this.
