►Kurt Wenner is an international master artist who interprets Renaissance classicism with a thoroughly singular voice. Unlike any other contemporary talent, Wenner fuses the visual patrimony of the past with twenty-first century imagination and stunning originality. His works do not copy or imitate the masters, but reinvent classicism for a new age. The scope of Wenners work is not confined to a canvas or limited by a frame. He designs and executes permanent works of art and architecture, as well as ephemeral visual illusions... Kurt Wenner is a Master Artist and Master Architect famous for inventing three-dimensional pastel drawings. Also known as: 3D Street Painting, 3D Pavement Art, 3D Chalk Art, or 3D Sidewalk Art, they are a form of anamorphic art. Anamorphism is usually considered a form of Illusion or Trompe loeil, but is really the logical mathematical continuation of Perspective.

  • @mnilandcom ...Completely agree,we thought on same, it’s just wrong term used. You were right; a better example may be the S.Hoogstraten, a specialist in perspective effects; especially in his series of peep show boxes. On the other hand, I think that success depends less on technical competence than artistic abilities and imagination. However, thank you! The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing in the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

  • @mnilandcom ...Exactly, he was *inspired by anamorphism , a technique used in frescoed ceilings in order to create the illusion of height, he devised a unique geometry that enable him to bring those illusions to the horizontal surface of the street. This new art form, or simply 3D street painting has become a worldwide phenomenon…Artists using this technique today can trace it back to Wenner’s invention in the early 80’s.
