does the camera need a battery to make this work?? because mine can't go all the way back D: and i read your response to the guy who had the same problem but not sure if it's because mine doesn't have battery, does that matter?
PS: my frame counter has an S, and i don't know what means (sorry for my ignorance lol)

Thank you so much for showing exactly where to stick the leader end of the film no one else would explain it like that have tried taking pictures 3 times with the same roll of film for it to be still stuck where it started. THANK YOU!!!

If your Advance lever doesn't move, then if your camera is battery operated e.g his camera or my A1, then you probably need a new battery. If yours is not battery operated like a Pentax Spotmatic then you need to take it to a repair shop

He uses Ilford HP5 from what I can see

My film advance lever is stuck. It doesn't advance the film at all. I have a Minolta X-700. The shutter won't operate and the film advance lever is stuck. I don't know what the fuck to do.

@helpyouriphone The lever locks when fully wound. Release the shutter to unlock it and check again. If film is loaded, the film might be jammed. If it's unloaded and the shutter has been fired and it still won't go back, then the lever itself might be jammed and you need to have it repaired.

@mrmekon thanks but how do i repiar it thanks for repling

@helpyouriphone Camera repair is a specialized skill. If you're very mechanically inclined you can buy a repair manual and camera repair tools from micro-tools and try it yourself, but you stand a good chance of making it worse. Otherwise you can take it to any specialty camera shop that does repairs.
