In a new television advertisement entitled "Tough Decisions" released today by the Republican Party of Minnesota, Governor Tim Pawlenty voices his strong support for Tom Emmer.
It's NOT a tough decision deciding NOT to vote for you. The 35W bridge collapsed on your watch, you appointed Carol Morneau who you appointed as transportation head. (You know.. the woman you had to move because she screwed up the education system so bad)
first of all, I love the tone and sincerity of your reply. You stick to the issues and make an effort to inform. That is refreshing and commendable.
In addition to expanding a regressive tax system, the problem with Emmer's economic plan is that the costs are shifted, moving the problem down the road. Dayton's plan, while raising taxes on the wealthy, aims to balance the budget without kicking the problem further into the future. Ironically, Dayton's plan is fiscally more conservative.
@StillmanScott Tom Emmer is NOT Tim Pawlenty. Emmer's plan focuses on reforming government inefficiencies and identifying root causes to problems. Tom Emmer's education plan specifically states he will "hold K–12 education funding harmless in the next biennium." He's also proposed "reducing state mandates to allow school districts to have greater authority to operate their districts." Read more about education on the Emmer website.
So let me get this straight. Tom Emmer plans to follow the exact economic plan that Tim Pawlenty used? So, we can count on an extended economic downturn, cuts in funding to cities and schools, and collapsing infrastructure due to a lack of maintenance. I think I'd rather have a tax increase on the wealthiest 4% of Minnesotans. Sounds to me like I'm going to vote for Mark Dayton.
