Realistic Fire Hands TUTORIAL Breakdown!

In this tutorial breakdown of some more Realistic Fire Hands, I use some fire elements from the Video Copilot Action Essentials II pack with the puppet tool to get that motion where the fire seems independent from the base. As stated in the original video (http://youtu.be/r1fgyG4w-GU), the effect DOES break down and look unrealistic if your hand moves TOO much, as also shown in that video. But the effect is very convincing for just normal movement of an object.

Do you need any particles.or any footages?

@8rocky88 You only some fire stock footage of something like a torch burning. even a closeup of a lighter burning may work. Other than that, it's all in After Effects.

how did you learn about expressions, it's something i can't really understand?

@henryankeefan It took me a while to figure what I do know out. That being said, I still almost know nothing about them. It's such a huge language that it's really difficult to master.

@KEEPTHECHANGE10 lol sorry, it's kind of an advanced breakdown. and it's "Null" as in "Null Object". It's just a layer that holds information and isn't seen in the video. It's used for animations and linking layers together.

Second, it's an advanced tutorial so even if you tried to follow it step by step it would be really difficult to get it right. Third, you learn best by figuring it out yourself from vague instructions, so put some effort into your work.
