Discovering Religion: Ep 19 - If America Became a Christian Nation (1 of 3)

The nineteenth installment of my original series, "Discovering Religion". In this episode I discuss what would happen if American were to TRULY subscribe to the Biblical laws passed down by Moses, from the Ten Commandments found in Exodus to the other moral and social laws found in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Interestingly, we can get a very good idea of how an American theocracy might appear, by comparing the Old Testament to Sharia law -- practiced by Islamic theocracies, such as the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Part 1 explores the loss of our First Amendment rights, specifically the Freedoms of Religion, Speech, and Press, in addition to relating these loss of rights to the political and social climate in countries that follow Sharia Law, such as Iran and Pakistan. The episode finishes with a brief look at the Thirteenth Amendment and the scriptural justification for the practice of slavery.

Note: Episode 19 completes the miniseries on "Religion in America" (episodes 17-19). In the next set of videos I will turn my focus to exploring the issues of "Morality" and then "Faith". Each of these topics will have 4-5 episodes.

There is evidence that we are evolving. I dont want to hand hold you, do your own research.

The term ape is used to refer to all species in the superfamily Hominoidea (chimps, gorillas, orangutans, gibbons and humans). Some people want to use "ape" only for the non-human species.

Doesnt really matter - the fact is that humans and other apes are closely related - cousins, we can say.

I, too have studied evolution, I research it whenever I can. I rely on trusted sources to get my information. I DONT rely on holy books as a source of information.

The fact is that you are rejecting the currently held scientific consensus about evolution, whether you have studied it or not.

@DiscoveringReligion Is not man part of the environment? In the example I gave you I, as man, was playing the role of the environment. By removing the fish I was showing you how the environment effects the beasts that you claim have evolved. It kills them, it does not give them enough time to mutate, nor do those mutations replicate. They end up dying just like the men who defend the ideas of other men. @rpk58 How do you reach the conclusions that you do? You are making a conclusion that my assertion is false by claiming that I have not studied evolution. Who told you this? Your conclusion about me is incorrect as are your conclusions regarding evolution. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to defend your position. But your conclusions, based on your inaccurate assumptions, are false. Your assumptions do not allow you to obtain truth. Don't let your pride solidify your assumptions.

Apes (e.g. chimpanzees) are modern animals. We didnt evolve from Chimpanzees. Chimpanzees and humans had a common ancestor. Technically, we are also apes.

Yes, speciation takes time.

@rpk58 I think everybody knows all scientists aren't athiests. I really don't need to know science in adept now do I to discuss God & His existence? Besides, has any one evolutionist come up with an answer to the obvious question yet? Why have we stopped evolving? Why are there still apes? Why isn't anything else changing besides apes to humans? Can't happen quickly enough to see in our lifetime you say? LMAO!!!
