Music video directed by Andy Hylton. This was shot in Miami. Mainly in an industrial area. I loved the light and the natural texture. Amp was a very cool guy, got his first break with George Clinton on Do Fries Go With That Shake, so i was completely into his 'Ghetto Fly' style. He picked up this vintage 70's suit locally shortly before the shoot. I remember that the man on the couch reading a newspaper was actually called Herbie and I chose him off the street because he looked like Herbie Hancock..was it the same man?
This remains one of my all time favourite videos because I think we captured a vibe and we had such a lovely crew. We all dug the Amp!!

  • I love this song! Thank you for posting info about the video. I thought maybe it was shot in the Caribbean. I also wondered if the man sitting on the couch had any symbolism.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks. I like the idea that the whole vibe drifts in and out of reality, sometimes it feels like a dream, slightly surreal..Herbie was reading the reality in the newspaper as Amp strolls past, but he was there because he was such a cool cat that just happened to be passing. x

  • nice song. nice video. nice suit !

  • He made this song called Highway withe breakthrough, I heard it in Japan. He's a beast!

  • This is the Miami Design District area in Wynwood, I caught this video on VH1 Soul and recognized the area because I live close by. This is some really nice soul music, Amp has worked with the big guns from George Clinton to Jamiroquai, it's a shame they don't give more video play of this good soul music like this. Enough of Niki Minaj, and these other non talented individuals who get all the air play, we need more funk like this.

  • Mmmm, I'm digging this. Sweet sounds.

  • this is another jam from amp!

  • you can definately hear where J-Dilla got his inspiration from

  • Thank God for Aol, i'm feeling this music.
