The original sound scares the crap out of me, they test mine on my radio at random times at night and i would just be studying in my room and that sound goes off and i start screaming and then i hide under my blankets, lol..

Had a similar thing happen a few years ago. I was watching some music video and the EAS kept flashing on and off, so I guess they were having problems with it because no alert tones were coming up, just music.
