We entered under the class of Touring Canadian Double (Canoe), first time in this category for either of us. The boat is a three seater Mackinaw 156 and is 4.65 mtrs in length. The Liffey Descent Canoe Marathon is 28 kilometres in length, starting at the K Club Golf Course in Straffan, County Kildare taking on 'the jungle' and 11 weirs. We finished at Islandbridge, in Dublin, in 5 hours and 14 minutes, including time for a nice picnic by Leixlip Reservoir!
