The boys and I building a treehouse at my Mom's place near Lake Roosevelt, WA in August 2006. The treehouse was built using all recycled materials and designed using a book by David Stiles. The Treehouse and Zip-line launch are done. Videos of those are posted. The only thing left is the rope/plank bridge connecting the two structures. Im going to do a "How to" video once that is complete since there are very few resources on the web for building rope bridges. See David Stiles website at:

  • how much does it cost to build that

  • About $1000 US. I still have to put in a permanent zipline and I think the wire rope and hardware will cost another $300-$400

  • hey i wanna build a tree house and could you be so kind to make a video on how you madew it and how much cuase yours is one of the better ones of i seen... so please **REPLY** to me.

  • Travis, Mine cost about $1000. Get a book by David and Jeanie Stiles. They have several to choose from but I used it for a workbook. Had it with me the whole time and it was very useful in design and layout. Good luck.

  • i disagree with what kpmull said about screws and not nails. True that screws are easier to work with but in windy conditions alot of stress is put on them and they tend to snap and break, nails on the other hand will hold strong and keep everything together. I would recommend nails or bolts for the supports and screws for the flooring and guard rails
