"Several years ago while living in New York City, I was hired to shoot footage of business people for an IBM television commercial.

"I went down to the World Trade Center and spent the next 6 hours of my life transfixed in those buildings and the people that worked within them. I felt invisible at times, even when someone reacted to my having a camera, I remained in my position as an outside member.

"After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, I am no longer that. None of us are.

"The following footage is a memorial to the buildings and people at a time in which it lived and thrived. I hope that this short piece reminds us of the life and energy that existed there and pray that one day it will return."

  • Im A Survivor and Enjoy The Footage,Thanks. I Had The Pleasure Of Taking A Picture For Some Stranger(or tourist) Weeks Before 911,An I Took The Pic From Ground Up To Fit The Person In between The Towers, I Always Think About That.

  • We can only look back at the World Trade Center with pride. They were amazing achievements and were of astounding beauty. Its so sad to know that some of these people seen in this video are no longer alive because of the attacks.

  • Thankyou brettia1984, THANKYOU !! I love this ! Now this is what the World Trade Center was all about !! The scene of those mass number of busy escalators is what I remember most, but have not seen since 9/11. I've been on those escalators dozens of times ! Do you have any video of the great stores and food court ? The World Trade Center was a fantastic place, and I would like to remember it this way !!

  • hmm makes me very emotional.. It makes me wonder actually how did and why did human beings develop emotions? What purpose do emotions serve in the tough world of beasts where its a survival of the fittest. emotions make us weaker don't they?

  • Great "slice of life" video - thank you for sharing it with us.

As someone who worked in midtown for 11 years, even I was surprised to see SIX BANKS of Escalators! I am sorry that I never stepped inside, because on the few occasions that I had I walked past them, they WERE Awesome!

I was at the memorial service last Sunday. It is really beautiful.

To see videos of the new construction, pls visit my channel.

May God bless the family members who will grieve all their lives for the lost.
