I just had to sign in and comment on this idiots posting! Let me tell you I have flown birds for the last 30+ years everything from kestrels to peregrine falcons, sparrowhawk's / goshawks etc, it is not about catching big stuff like rabbits pheasants etc. it is about the flight! Probably the best bird I have ever flown and hunted with is a female sparrowhawk at blackbirds! So next time you make a post at least know what you're talking about!

How did you permit and how long did it take? I'm looking into falconry, seems like a good hobby/sport/lifestyle to get into.

@MRWHITE3535 the flights on larger legal quarry are much more exciting to me than catching passerines which you are not legally allowed to hunt like blackbirds. So you are the idiot for intentionally releasing your bird on protected species. And as i said before to each his own.

Ha the mouse is almost as big! good bird!

Looks more like a meadow vole.

@FalconryVids Not to mention a kestrel could still tear you a new one. Just because they are small doesn't mean they are not fierce.

so cool! how do you guys train them like that?

harris hawks r well better then this little sparrow
Why do you prefer microhawking for insects and small rodents when you could have a real bird of prey that could catch rabbits, ducks, pheasant, ect. I just don't get it, but to each his own i guess.

@MrFuckyoumannn The terrain you have access to decides what size bird you will hunt with. You can sneak a small raptor into places that a large raptor would attract too much attention. Not everyone has access to ponds full of ducks. Plus I can hunt year round with a small falcon. Duck hunting season is rather short. But yeah I see what you are saying.
