Ok justin pourquoi les Canadians abdique pas leurs identity towards the american... apres tout ils regardent la même télévision qu'eux les même films les même livres ..et ils regardent plus les ''news american'' que la cbc....

@TheCuriousNose We do not want money, nor privileges, not even to separate. We are just fed up to feel and made to feel like aliens in our own country, which is Canada.
-
@TheCuriousNose Quebec has no more privilege over its infrastructre and resources than Ontario does. Not a dot more. But that's not the issue, its quite allright. By cultural autonomy, we mean constitutional recognition of our particularity, above all our mother tongue. We want to be able to be protected, as a nation, by the Canadian constitution and supreme court. Today unfortunately, it is not the case.

@247mhm That's exactly my point. I said its ok for provinces to fight for what they think is right according to their needs. And even though I tend to agree with a part of your statement, you are dead wrong when you say we are recognized. We are not. The refusal of Canada t recognize us in Charlottetown and Meech Lake Accords under Mulroney prompted the 1995 referendum. Quebec has yet to sign to Canadian Constitution of which it is not part.

I'm from BC and I have francophone grandparents. I went to French Immersion, as did many kids. And I love french language and culture.
If Quebec left Canada, french language would have less presence and relevance in anglophone provinces.
We embrace you, really. We just hate the bloc quebecois and all the complaining we get, about how we 'dont give a shit' about you and what not.
You mean a lot to Canada, in culture/heritage/history etc.
Do you really want to sell yourself to the Americans?

@TheCuriousNose Fighting to no longer be canadian does not make you a proud canadian.
Quebec is special and unique, thats true. Its also very canadian! All canadian stereotypes = quebec. You have long canadian history and culture. BC is extremely different from eastern canada. We are also special.
You are already recognized as a 'nation within a nation'. You already do have huge control privileges over your resources and infrastructure.
The whole 'Quebec Libre' thing is spoiled and petulant.

@247mhm We want to be a recognized Nation in the Canadian Federation. If BC would love to exert control on its resources and infrastructure, well, fight for it! Fighting for this doesnt mean not being a proud canadian. It would actually make Canada better. We dont think we're so special. We know we are. It doesnt make us any better than BC or any other province. Just particular. Many anglophone compatriots will agree that failing to see that Quebec is unique is pure denial.

@247mhm Quebec Libre
