Home made bottle rocket launch.
Total range: ~70 meters
Launch speed: ~75Km/h

A 'U' shaped pin is used to hold the bottle in place so that a higher pressure can be obtained, without it the bottle would go 10m max. The pin is a bit dangerous as the string needs a hard tug to release it due to the pressure, hence I am pulling the pin and my youngest brother is doing the pumping.

Sorry for the poor quality, we filmed this with a webcam and laptop, access to a proper video camera was not available.

  • hey show me the design of the loncher so i can make one for mine

  • I'll put together a small site with the details of my launcher, it is not brilliant, but it works and could be made better is we had put a little more thought in to it before we started construction.

I'll PM you the link when it's done.

  • We did that once too.. nice :P

  • Yeah, they're pretty cool when you have them working well.

You should see some of the more 'professional' ones, they have multi-stages that drop off. lookup this user, he has 2 and i think a 3 stage bottle rocket: gk123434534

(Whoops accidentally posted from my sisters account, was using a different computer :P )
