  • The US enacted an embargo against Cuba because they sided with the Soviets during the Cold War. The Cold War's been over for nearly 2 decades now.

Supporters of the embargo know they'll sound stupid if they bring up the Cuban Missile Crisis. Thus they use "human rights" as their argument.

Hmm... Americans are allowed to travel to North Korea but not Cuba. We have a trade embargo against Cuba, yet China is our biggest trading partner. This clearly has NOTHING to do with human rights.

  • The embargo has been ruled illegal by the UN for 13 years now. The only country an American cant visit is Cuba. It's a disgrace and an affront to every American and Cuban. We are hurting a decent people with this nonsense. Successive administrations, eyeing the Cuban American vote, have upheld this disgraceful embargo. As a Cuban told me last week in Havana, these people in Miami have a photo of Cuba but it isn't theirs, it is our country and our revolution.

  • @GRANDMASTERKANE IDIOT

  • @jorgedude888 even right-wingers like you want the embargo over, now aint that cute, but still... go fuck urself - the revolution was made "socialist" in 1961 because america tried to flex its muscles there, america is who was wrong, not cuba, they never did anything to america

  • @djtrixen China isn't the biggest partner, Canada is. But china is very close.

  • @djtrixen Well said, this is the most ridiculous blockade ever because it serves no purpose. They contradict themselves because they claim it’s about human rights. The Cubans are suffering because of this so if people are suffering its the Americans fault because they have lost billions of dollars in trade. This would transform the nation of Cuba.

  • @djtrixen I agree with your last two statements (2 paragraphs), VERY TRUE! I would like to make a clarification though: The embargo was IMPOSED on Cuba when Cuba NATIONALIZED American Corporations and DID NOT MONETARILY COMPENSATE AMERICAN CORPORATIONS, the Missle Crises came years later.

  • I think it'is time to end the cuban embargo and allow a free and democratic society flourish. There is no purpose for the embargo in this century, except as a punishment for transgressions committed more than 40 years ago. its only current effect is the suffering of innocent people. Castro has learned his lesson and should make it public for the sake of the country.

  • maybe the embargo will be lifted once castro is dead.

  • oh, human rights in Cuba being violated?

does he mean in Guantanamo bay?

probably the hotspot of the Cuban and Caribbean human rights violations...

democracy a human right? so why don't they boycott Saudi Arabia or China?

    fucking double morals...

  • @BARRYCO Were not allowed to go to north korea, either

  • @djtrixen Acualy, America Has an Embargo on north korea, too
