@marluxia0080 they never replaced each other because they were both used in the same period of military the m240 is replacing the m60 and the m249 will work alongside the m240 due to the face of its mobility

@marluxia0080 quick tip 300 us marine solders in ww1 took out a german batallion at 1000 yards with only stock springfeild 1903s and also the m240 is newer than the m60 by like 20 years and its replacing the us military with in the next couple of years idk where your facts are coming from

@LieutenantScout Im no expert, so I wikipedia'ed it and the 240 apparently weighs 2 lbs more. 2 pounds isnt much difference in the machine gun world, especially 7.62. The m60 is longer, Ive heard a lot of crew chiefs talk about how hard it was pulling one back inside the window of a UH-60 compared to the 240. No one shoots 3725m with a 7.62 weapon, and the m240 is designed for what you "need". Btw Im going to the range to re-qualify on it tomorrow so say Im just some CallOfDuty kid.

I would take the M60, due to being smaller, light, and much reliable, plus, im not going to be shooting 3725m with a Support Weapon, I would being doing supressive fire, so I need long bursts, light gun.
