At a June 8, 2009 Republican fundraiser in Washington, DC, Newt Gingrich announced to the audience - and to our world - "I am not a citizen of the world!" Why am I not surprised??
I'm no Newt fan but I don't see this as controversial at all. We cant even get national governments to work correctly who wants to be a citizen in a global government.
Gee, isn't this the same Newt who, while Speaker of the House was having an affair with his intern? While calling Clinton immoral? Lost his job because of ethical misconduct. The same Newt who speaks for the ultra right, Christian segment of the Republican party? Reminds me of Jimmy (and Tammy Faye) Bakker. Sinners and hypocrites. Only morons would send this guy money.
Wow. I have to ask what happened to all the Eisenhower republicans, the ones who didn't hate left wing progressives and believed in things like sensible government regulation of the private sector, true fiscal responsibility and the good life for all, not just for the top five percent?
Obama may be another credit card, but at least he doesn't go around preaching that he's a fiscal "conservative" (lol). Thanks to Reagan, that term is now meaningless.
Ron Paul is probably the only Republican who is not a total HYPOCRITE! But then he's more libertarian than modern-day "conservative".
When mainstream conservatives (& Republicans) stop asking "What would Reagan/Limbaugh do?" & begin to learn how to THINK ON THEIR OWN, they may someday have some semblance of credibility. Not holding my breath . . .
At least Ron Paul (a libertarian first & foremost) has been his own man for many decades (essentially running against Reagan's "3rd term" back in 1988). Unfortunately, mainstream conservatives (90+% of Paul's party) are still clueless - addicted to Reagan/Limbaugh DUMB IT DOWN.
He's an illegal alien! Put him on the next space shuttle and drop him off.

This is the kind of snot nosed, 'we are better than them' attitude republicans need to get over if they want to be taken seriously.

Reagan was a credit card wrapped in the flag.
Bush 41 was a credit card wrapped in the flag.
Bush 43 was a credit card wrapped in the flag.

"Apology" is ditto-head code for "diplomacy"
