Connor looks and sounds to be a very sweet and caring child. You are a type of hero in my book, to adopt a child takes courage and I guess in Connor's case a strong will,and some patience. Congratulations on his progress. May I ask, did you know he would be Autistic?

No, we didn't know, we adopted him at birth. Just noticed around 10 months he wasn't making any sounds and didn't play right with stuff, didn't interact with us or even let us know he was hungry. So much not typical we suspected and found out at 3 years old.

I hope I'm not bothering you, but I was just wondering, what is ABA and behavior modification? I'm assuming Conner is adopted since you were talking about meetig his birth mom. Was she a surrogate mother, or did she just decide to let him be adopted?

No bother at all, "Applied Behavioral Analysis", ABA is intensive skill training based on a reward system (sometimes called "discrete trials"). Behavior Modification helps with daily living and problem behaviors. It makes good use of schedules and visuals to keep these little guys on track.
Yes, he's adopted, we knew birth dad, who wasn't with birth mom at the time, through him we met her. I'm working on our website now that explains the 18-day whirlwind that was our adoption. LOL
