I bought the cassette tape in 1980. Played it many times going to visit my girlfriend who lived 30 min away. It became our family theme. We still listen to it. Great music gets greater with time.

He caught a lot of hell from jazz purists who were mad at his commercial success- sure its not the heaviest music but great quality and staying power, still sounds gtood.

I bought a Grover Washington Jnr. LP "Winelight" in 1981-I don't think back in those days I really would have believed I would be listening to his music 30 yrs later and still enjoying it and appreciating it after all the music that has passed in those intervening years. Just shows I was only 18 yrs old then but I had good taste:-)
