yes I would.... the only difference between this and the Canon Lens is focusing speed... the canon is a faster lens machically .... but this lens is way cheaper.... I got mine used for $500

It's a very nice lens.... way cheaper than the Canon and performs just a tad slower than the Canon.. Low light situations it has good performance ...... just make sure you use a tripod when shooting long exposures.....

No no that lens sucks so much light in there's no need for any flash .....
