Blender Train Animation

I tried to figure out how to make the foldable parts between the cars of the train. The rest (track, camera movement, light) is a random product.

The white parts have a curve modifier. The red boxes are parented to 3 vertices each of an invisible grid that has a curve modifier. The speed is controlled by a "loc"-IPO-Curve.

I am planning to learn more about Blender, BUT!, what I would REALLY like is a more DETAILED tutorial on how this is done. I'd like to find out HOW to do this in Lightwave, which I use right now.

for 2.48---next to the edit mode button there is an icon with something like a mountain on it. click on it and under output /tmp/ put where you want the file to go. then under where it says "format" click on jpeg and change it to avi raw (a list should pop up when you click jpeg) then click on the big "ANIM" button to animate-- go to the file you chose and there is your animation!! hope i could help
