Being sick is usually no picnic. You might feel absolutely miserable. A natural inclination could be to eat or drink whatever will make you feel better (e.g., chicken soup for a cold).

What do you do if you're trying to eat healthier? Are you able to stay on your healthy eating plan when you're sick? Or do you just listen to what your body wants no matter how healthy or unhealthy it is?

  • when I get sick, I start to sneeze a lot, then my eyes water a lot, I start coughing, then I start getting a bad headache. :(

  • I'm sick right now and what I usually eat is chicken soup I would be eating that right now but my mom say I eat that everyday:( now I'll be sick for like a week:(

  • The thing is with me if my hair is wet and I don't dry it I will get very sick and drinking a smoothie for me well just make it worse what I do is I eat a raw piece of ginger. I would also gargle with a mouthwash or salt and water. I would always have something that is warm and will not make it worse plus having sour fruits in there can make it even worse for your throat. But whatever helps you.

  • Sorry, but I have to disagree with the smoothie. All that sugar will probably make your cold worse, or--at the very least--make your recovery take longer. I'm sick today and thanking God (and myself) that I saved the broth from when I boiled a chicken a few days ago. Nothing hits the spot when you're sick quite like a healthy broth. And it's actually GOOD for you, and will help you get better.

  • @Lojkovic Think of all the starving peoples food you eating, 50 pounds? Please you're still well over weight I would be sick too if i was that fat, sick of myself infact you're nothing but another fat american getting defensive over your weight, ugly fat twirled excistance is a very nusiance to me, you're vexatious and pestrious please take your life, that you could atleast do so you can give back to nature somehow.

  • fresh fruit all i want, green juices, loads of water, herbal teas, salads with homemade raw blender dressings(fav is lime juice, ginger, basil, three oranges, honey), green smoothies. that kind of stuff. raw, whole, low fat, HIGH calories from fruit not from fats, milk, bread etc. that's pretty much my diet in it's ideal state, somewhat simpler when i am ill or need to cleanse my guts. always high fiber and mostly raw. ALL whole foods!

  • @VanillaChocklate I lost 50 pounds this summer. I weighed 226 and now I'am 173. You sir should shut up and stop being an ignorant jerk. It was hard and took a lot of determination of working out everyday of the week even when I was sick. I'am sick now so I looked this up. Shut up and go do something else instead of hating.
