Dec. 11 - The NASA satellite mission has revealed new information about "night-shining" clouds which appear as thin bands in twilight skies. Over the last 27 years, the brightness and frequency of the clouds' occurrence has increased in both the north and southern hemispheres and they have been seen at lower latitudes. Scientists say the clouds appear to be much brighter than was previously thought.
I see lots of clouds in the southern part of Manila since January. I rarely see what's going on up there. This month should be the summer time but doesn't seem to appear that way. Could there be something hideous going on up there?

No, these clouds are made of ice crystals. The reason for where they are and how they got there is unknown. It could be space shuttle exhaust, could be cyclical, could be related to solar activity, or it could be due to climate cycles. Or something else.

Some scientists think that these clouds are made up of comet dust.
