well I live in the town neighboring the city where the mohawk resides in Indiana, and the reason we arn't trying to restore it is the fact that our regional econnomy was the worst hit in the US ecconomic downturn average unemployment is around 15% so no money means no restoration, and Norfolk Southern most likly won't let it run on the tracks for excursions in Elkheart. It is at a national museum dedicated to the NYC, #3001 has its whistle working under compresed air and its light is always on.

If the NYC made a 4-8-4 version of this very locomotive,my favorire engine,2102, would be some other northern,this Mohawk is AWESOME!
