One quick question ... I was gonna build one of these, but am afraid that the heat (if using a large watt bulb) would build up inside the box, causing a possible fire hazard. I believe pro softbox kits have cooling vents/somewhere for the heat to go. The only heat escape on the metal domes is the three little holes near the base. Whats the highest watt bulb you used? and has it ever smoked?

Hey man, just finishing building mine! Got 5 25w lights in it. Also managed to mount it on a normal camera tripod which is nice. Very easy to do, just need to remove the bolt on the fitting and replace it with another bolt, then screw that to an L shaped connector which bolts onto the soft box.
