@360lovestar Embroidery thread isn't going to work, but you can use linen cord for a skinny bracelet like this. Doesn't stink and the quality seems to be more uniform, but it doesn't have that cool hemp look.

@4RACHAEL4 Late reply, but all you need to do is alternate sides. I find this easy by making a slip knot on one knotting string (you can mark the very end with a marker, tie a bead on the end, whatever) and using this one to make the loop every time, because your strings end up on opposite sides each time.
I prefer the spiral look, and it seems to be easier to get a good spiral than a good flat stitch, but good luck anyway :)

@4RACHAEL4 make sure you alternate left to right when making your knots. if you do it continuously on one side you will get the spiral. which is a very cool pattern. and my preferred method.

When i do mine it twists so when its finished it looks pretty awsome but i dunno how to do it straight
