One useful sentence if you are a "foods adventurer" like me is : "Osusumehinha"
"Osusumehinha" means : "What do you suggest ?" Japanese people will be proud to prepare their local specialitiesfor you.
Another tip : Even if you are thinking : "food isn't good" (Mazui), don't say it. It sound impolite sometimes.
You can say : "(Watashi ni ha) Henna aji desu"
It means : (For me) the taste is unusual (or "strange")
A lil' apologize (sumimasen) with this sentence, and you will act like a Japanese :D

@TheHuggableAsian why are you replying my comments? "don't forget to watch the next episode" and "I look forward to next time", whats so much difference about that? lol..
I know (from my overly amount of anime that i watch) that you say something like 'thanks for the food' or something like that, how would you say that?
