ok then,, so how do you dance to the proper original zouk? What is it today? Kizomba? Kuduro? Semba? Carribian zouk? Just zouk?

Can someone post a link to a video of how a 'proper' zouk (not brasilian) is being danced?

The minimum is if you guys are using our music to dance it ( lambada, or rio zouk, or samba or... ) is to respect the origin of the name & music that you are using.

due to a Marketing way ( money, interest ) all over youtube when we type ZOUK we don't find the real zouk but a lmabada'zouk' dance.

It's like me hip hop dancer, typing hip hop, and 80% of the videos as merengue dance, the music is certainly hip hop, ( spanish hip hop, but the dance is merengue )

what is sad here is that the debate is between lambada & "a wrong Zouk''

Wrong because what you guys call Zouk it's already Faulse, it's a stolen word. from the french carribean Zouk, which mean parties.

in my opinion we can call it's Zouk+something, hip hop zouk lamabazouk salsa-zouk. but not ZOUK only.

Please check on google wiki the definition of ZOUK when it was created by whom?

In my opinion zouk is zouk and lambada is lambada. in my opinion tha name could be zouk all over the world.but when you teach the zouk you have to explain that the zouk came from the lambada.

Good! The principal thing is to have fun and, like you said, just love it! The rest is marketing and each person has a risan to do this.

I hope some day everybody can agree with one name and will be good to the marketing of everybody. Example: SALSA and all the styles... SAMBA and all the styles... ROCK and the styles... LAMBADA ??? ZOUK??? LAMBAZOUK??? ZOUKLAMBADA??? BRAZILIAN ZOUK??? What is the name of our dance?

Hi Renato,

What you say is true but i think the teachers give us this explanation in Holland.

We call it: lamba-zouk, zouk-love, zouk-revolution. All with small differences in style.

lamba-zouk is for example Gilson Damasco

zouk-revolution- Dark Lion or Mr. Dragon

Zouk-love - Claudio Gomes

But to be honest i don't care how we call it, i just love it!

Very good explanation, but also in Europe, people from Lambada-Zouk scene think that Lambada and Brazilian-zouk are different dances. In Holland they ask me if i was giving Lambada or Zouk classes, and couldn't understand that we were talking about the same kind of dance.

A girl did a video from me, dancing with her and put in the youtube saying something like: Mix between Lambada and Zouk. I was dancing Lambada, of course, but there are thousand names to Lambada, and Zouk is one of them.
