To cut a piece of buried plastic pipe, slip a piece of thin nylon string around it and attach each end to wooden handles. Pull the string tight and use a back and forth motion to cut through the pipe.

  • PVC pipe??????????????

  • Very nice! This does not work with ABS black pipe though.... The melting point for ABS is much higher so when you are using the nylon string the ABS plastic cools too quickly and the string just get's caught every time. The white PVC plastic has a a lower melting point so it is easy to just slice through it. Unless you can move that string extremely fast.... it get's surrounded by cooled ABS plastic.

  • depends what string you are using

  • will guitar string do the trick any better?

  • very usefull tip....thanks!!!!
