What are the rubber free- swinging toppers on your cymbal stands? Those look like they save a lot of shit for your cymbals.

@thomassmith18 those are Aquarian cymbal springs. They work nicely but I got new hardware and have gone back to felt.

For those who're looking for tuning tips, check out Bob Gatzen's YouTube videos on tuning, from the Evans web site. That's the starting point. I believe with these drums I went up a couple steps and likely had the bottom heads tighter than the top on the toms and kick and the snare was probably tuned medium-tight.

I ran through a cheap Behringer mixer and an RCA to 1/8" cable into the mic input.
