My first video log. I invented a recipe in honor of the (amazing) book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is the recipe Katniss mentioned in her interview, which she also said was her favorite meal in the Capital: lamb stew with plumbs. Here is my interpretation.

The Hunger Games Lamb and Plum Stew

1 lb. Lamb meat
1 large Onion
10-13 pitted Prunes
1-2 C. Water
4 large Carrots
5 medium Potatoes
3 tsp. Red Wine Vinegar
2 tsp. Brown Sugar
1 good pinch Rosemary (about 1 tsp.)
3 stalks of Celery
1 Bell Pepper (any color)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Gravy

Grape Juice to taste--for flavor (less than 1/4 C. I would think)
Juice Drippings from the crock pot
Flour
Salt and Pepper to taste
Water, if needed

Rice/Wild Rice**

NOTE: Recipe above is from the updated recipe. This video is from the original recipe, but the same basic directions apply to both. :)

  • don't eat the prunes or you'll be on the toilet for hours

  • @SolidGold1980 Oh dear. I hope this is not from personal experience. (I was surprised how much I liked the prunes in there).

  • @SolidGold1980 One time when I was little, I was at my Grandmothers house, I was really thirsty so I opened the fridge to find a full bottle of Prune Juice, I opened it and drank nearly the full bottle. At the time, i had no knowledge of what the stuff really was used for, after that, lets just say I was in the toilet for literally... 5 hours.

  • @HeatherZundel no i was j/k

  • This is awesome! I tried it out with some changes, check out my video!
